Flesh-Eating as Corruption: The Book of Enoch and the Biblical Call to Compassion 🇩🇰🇵🇱👇👇 When we look at ancient texts that were once widely read by early Jews and Christians, the Book of Enoch stands out as a prophetic voice against the corruption of creation. Though not part of the standard biblical canon, it sheds light on practices that God never intended for humanity — including the eating of flesh and blood. Enoch’s Warning In 1 Enoch 7:4–5 , we read: "They began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh and drink the blood." Later, in 1 Enoch 9 , the archangels cry out to God about this corruption: "They have begotten giants… who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, beasts, reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh and drink the blood." ...
